Do Your Homework
Your due diligence is essential
We highly recommend that you do your due diligence when seeking an advisor. The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) makes information about every advisor available for the general public to review. Use the advisor search tool to verify credentials, registration status, and any disciplinary history before you commit.
To search: visit the CIRO website, scroll to the bottom of the page and press the "Start Search" button to look up any advisor by name.
Know Your Advisor
CIRO publishes registration and disciplinary information on every licensed advisor in Canada. It's free, public, and takes less than a minute.
